Activity Summary:
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) provides safe and robust protection again HIV infection in a diversity of populations at risk. In addition, PrEP when used in combination with other approaches has led to reductions in population-level HIV incidence at regional and city levels. This activity will discuss the impact of PrEP on ending the HIV epidemic, benefits and limitations of new and future PrEP options, and strategies to improve sustainable implementation of PrEP.

The Simply Speaking HIV lecture series includes a curriculum that highlights the very latest clinical data utilizing a PowerPoint slide presentation developed and approved by key expert physicians and further reviewed and approved by the Planning Committee. Recent developments have led to important updates in the diagnosis and use of novel approaches in treatment for patients with PBC. This podcast will utilize a case-based discussion to address implications of risk stratification and practice-changing evidence for the long-term management among diverse patients with PBC.

Despite advances in understanding the role of IFN-γ in these conditions, there remains an unmet need for more precise diagnostic tools and faster, targeted therapies to manage the hyperinflammatory states that characterize these diseases.

Dr. Mikhael details how approved and emerging CAR T cell agents in multiple myeloma will impact the treatment landscape and how to better integrate these agents to enable improved outcomes among patients.

There have been multiple key advances in the treatment landscape of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in 2024. To that end, a number of double and triple combination studies have been completed or are currently underway and, innovative therapies such as bispecific antibodies and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells are being developed for CLL. In Highlights and Hindsight in CLL, Dr. Matthew Davids describes the most significant ongoing studies and publications in CLL from 2024 and details their impact on the treatment continuum. This activity enables participants to stay updated on the most relevant breakthroughs to improve outcomes among patients.
