Adolescents, HIV and PrEP - Updated 11/6/2023
Certified AMA/ANCC/ACPE Activity - Lecture Library
The Simply Speaking HIV Prevention lecture series includes a curriculum that highlights the very latest clinical data utilizing a PowerPoint slide presentation developed and approved by key expert physicians and further reviewed and approved by the Planning Committee.

Adolescents are disproportionately affected by HIV, accounting for approximately 1 in 5 new HIV infection in the United States. The expanded options for pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in adolescents provides clinicians with additional, effective tools to further reduce the risk of HIV transmission in this group. Once diagnosed, youth with HIV are the least likely out of any age group to be linked to care and achieve viral suppression once on ART.

Updated information is noted on the slide in the upper right hand corner. Please note that participants who have previously claimed credit for this activity should not claim duplicate credit based on the updates.
Review the activity and claim AMA, ANCC or ACPE credit/contact hour after completion of a brief pretest and posttest/evaluation.
